Established since 1997 and now in it’s 11th year, we are again delighted to have the support of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK for both the Supply Chain and Clinical Category for the Pharmacy Technician Awards 2008.
The Association recognises the important contribution that pharmacy technicians make to hospital pharmacy services and patients during their stay in hospital, as part of their ever expanding roles.
The winner of both categories, Supply Chain and Clinical will receive :

A travel/education bursary of £1000 each

Be given one year’s free membership of the APT UK

Have the opportunity to present their papers at the Annual APTUK Conference in 2009.

The APTUK/AAH Hospital Service Pharmacy Technician of the Year Supply Chain Award for 2007 was presented this year to Michael Butterfield, Specialist Technician, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, for his submission “Managing performance in homecare medicines supply chain”.
The APTUK/AAH Hospital Service Pharmacy Technician of the Year Clinical Award for 2007 was presented to Susan Mirczuk, Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician, Wrexham Maelor Hospital, for her submission “A pioneering role for pharmacy technicians in surgical pre-operative assessment clinics”.
Sarah Wilcox, president of the APT UK, said: “These awards are testament to the APTUK’s commitment to championing excellence and will inspire future pharmacy technicians.”
APTUK-Pharmacy Technician of the Year Professional Award 2008
The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK is delighted to announce the launch of a new award category for 2008-The Professional Award.
This award is open to all pharmacy technicians in any field of practice, including those in Hospital, Retail, Community, PCT and associated government bodies. The Professional Award is a nomination-based award and candidates can be nominated by colleagues, staff and management.
The winner will receive:

The title of APTUK Pharmacy Technician of the Year Professional Award 2008.

A £500 education bursary to undertake a course of study or support CPD.

A year's APTUK membership subscription.
